Antioxidant exogenous therapy; is it a bane or a boon? This has been a subject of controversy over the years creating a state of dilemma in its use amongst patients. The antioxidant market has had its boom in recent times in Nigeria. Despite several inconclusive results on antioxidant health benefits, these antioxidant therapy are being marketed aggressively via several network of businesses with no regulatory policy. This work gave insight into the raging controversy over antioxidant supplementation and limitation to antioxidant therapy studies. The benefits and detrimental effects of antioxidant therapy, were brought into limelight and recommendations on the way forward were also proffered.
