How does the use of digital media influence the perception and treatment of time and space at work? To answer this question, Caroline Roth-Ebner investigates the interplay of media usage and social practices in the office. She reports that there is an ideal type of 'efficient human', who strives for efficiency in his work in order to be able to manage a maximized workload. Digital media thus become tools for efficiently planning, executing, archiving, and evaluating tasks.
