'Self-Regulation of the Press in Germany and Great Britain' The thesis examines the success of the self-regulation of the press in Germany fulfilled by the German Press Council. Recommendations for action for a successful future are developed and examined for their legal feasibility. In addition, the British model of press self-regulation is compared to the German one to show differences and similarities, as well as to explore suggestions and proposals for improvement for the future.

Carolin Louisa Schmidt studied law with a focus on media and business law at the University of Potsdam. After successfully completing the first state law examination, she became a doctoral candidate at the University of Augsburg. She continued and finished her doctoral at the University of Potsdam.
