One night, Astrid discovers that her adoptive siblings are trying to conceal a murder. Their "father" already has some skeletons in his closet, and so Astrid starts to unspool a web of homicidal deception. As the conspiracy of her siblings is laid bare, Astrid questions what exactly Laurence has been training them to achieve by manifesting their pain into otherworldly abilities, and where the use of their magical powers will lead them as they try to forge their own dark path.
